Aug. 7, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman volleyball coach Shannon Mincey has announced the addition of setter/libero Stephanie Cutter to the team. Cutter joins the Lady Eagles after completing her freshman season at the University of South Alabama. She played in 101 games and tallied 823 assists, 214 digs, and 19 service aces. A native of Murfreesboro, Cutter lettered at Siegal High School, earning all-District and all-Region honors in her junior and senior seasons. During her senior year, she posted 1,260 assists to earn both the District and Region Most Valuable Player as well as First Team all-Mid-State and All-State. That same season, Cutter helped Siegal advance to the semifinals of the 3A State Playoffs with a 52-12 record and played in the Tennessee East/West All-Star game. SHS finished with a 48-15 mark in Cutter's junior season and advanced to the 3A state quarterfinals. Prior her tenure at SHS, Cutter lettered her freshman and sophomore seasons at Boone County High School in Florence, Kentucky. As a sophomore, she was named team MVP and earned all-District and all-Region honors. She also earned Northern Kentucky Division I All-Opponent Second Team and Honorable Mention all-state accolades. At the club level, Cutter played for the IMPACT club team in Nashville. Stephanie will become the second student-athlete in her family to play in the South Atlantic Conference. Her father Michael played basketball for Catawba College. "Stephanie has a very energetic personality and displays a passion for the game when she plays," Mincey said. "She is going to make a great fit with our team and will be able to provide immediate on-court experience. She is verbal on the court and seems to have the ability to take charge of the offense. I look forward to coaching her." Stephanie is the daughter of Michael and Cheryl Cutter and the older sister of Becca and Tyler.
