"Kelsey Fleck attacked strong today against a very solid Lander team. Her attitude carried our team with high momentum. Setters Allyson Corhn and Stephanie Cutter both led a solid offense moving the ball well for our hitters. I felt we had a lot of one on one looks throughout the weekend. Against Lander, Troyer made a big impact in blocks with 5 solo / 2 assist as well freshman Mary Kate Work contributed with 3 solo/2 assist blocks for us. I felt Haley Bush came into this match focused and did a great job keeping the ball alive. She contributed 22 digs in just 4 sets today! Both our outside hitters Jessica Schacleiter and Carly Mozgai played consistent--they seem to do well pushing each other this year. Caitlin Schlegel came off the bench for us and hit to win. She hit some hard attacks through their seam. Middle Jessica Brady seems to almost go errorless each match. She is a great role player for our team--very steady in emotion and play. Our setters are able to use her in the clutch and trust the ball will go in. In set 4 against Lander, Salem Stepp made some instrumental plays in ball placement to set our blockers up. Although our setter Lara McDonald didn't play today against Lander, she did an excellent job running a 5-1 in our match yesterday. She handled the ball well, stayed poised and contributed consistent sets for our hitters. Our team had fun playing this weekend. There was a lot of team spirit from the bench which is always nice to see." |
