Sept. 1, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- The Carson-Newman Lady Eagle volleyball squad continued their unbeaten streak with a 3-0 win over Mount Olive Saturday morning. The Lady Eagles won the first two games 30-16 and 30-22 for a quick 2-0 lead. Carly Mozgai and Kelli Sorensen paced the C-N offense while Nikki James and Kelsey Fleck anchored the Lady Eagle defense with crucial blocks. In the third game, C-N took an early 10-6 lead, but Mount Olive rallied to even the score at 11-11. A Katie Troyer kill and Haley Bush ace gave C-N the lead at 21-20 while two Troyer aces ended the game and the match to give the Lady Eagles a 30-22 win and their eighth consecutive match win. "Our winning streak has really displayed our teamwork," head coach Shannon Mincey said. "Our chemistry has resulted in W's. Mount Olive came back and challenged us, but we were able to make adjustments with triple blocking and earn the win." The Lady Eagles will face Converse College at 1:45 to conclude the Labor Day weekend tournament.
