JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Middle blocker Heidi Breitenfeldt has joined the Carson-Newman volleyball team and will compete with the team during the 2007 season. The 6'4" Breitenfeldt, a native of Mosinee, Wisconsin, is the career and season record holder for attacking percentage, solo blocks, and block assists for Mosinee High School. After leading Mosinee High to conference, region, and section championships, Breitenfeldt was redhshirted at Northern Michigan University during the 2006 season. . "I'm excited that Heidi has joined our team, " C-N head coach Shannon Mincey said. "There is no question she will add to our net play with blocking and attacking. She has the potential to be very successful here at Carson-Newman. Our conference is very competitive within itself, so this addition with our other signees will only propel our team." Breitenfeldt earned All-Conference first team and All-State honorable mention honors as well as playing for the Wisconsin High School All-Star team and the Wisconsin Ice, a club volleyball team.
