ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Carson-Newman's Kari Gibson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon.

Gibson led the Lady Eagles to three South Atlantic Conference victories last week. The senior setter acquired a season-best 62 assists in a road victory over Lincoln Memorial while also aiding the C-N cause with 12 kills, seven digs and two service aces.

Against Presbyterian last Friday, Gibson finished the contest with 37 assists and eights kills. She also hit a team-best .538 in the match.

In the final game of the week against the Indians of Newberry last Saturday, Gibson ended her efforts with 28 assists, seven kills and three service aces.

For the week, the Celina, Ohio native obtained 127 assists and 27 kills.

The SAC Volleyball Players of the Week are chosen by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
