Julia held a successful playing career at King College in Bristol, TN where she helped the Tornado to a four-year record of 116-48. King captured four AAC championships, one Regional Championship and one appearance in the National Tournament. Rafalowski graduated a semester early from King College with a degree in Mathematics (2006) and plans to receive her Masters of Education from Carson-Newman. Julia has worked numerous volleyball camps and recently coached the 18Elite team for the Cobra Junior USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Team. "Julia does a great job with our recruiting. She leads the girls on and off the court. Her spritual influence is valuable to our players!" says Coach Mincey Julia spent time in Vienna, Austria and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on mission trips. She also has been an ETTI Camp Counselor for 5 years, volunteered with the Salvation Army Angel Tree, FCA involvement and taught Bible School. She is an active member of Mt Carmel United Methodist Church. Her parents are Teddy and Evelyn and she has 1 brother (Trey). Julia's father owns Action Athletics out of Kingsport, TN where Julia has served as a sales clerk. She also had the opportunity to teach math at Vance Middle School for the spring semester of 2007. Mincey adds "I have known Julia since she was in 8th grade. I had the opportunity to coach her club team for several years. She comes from an awesome family who will also become part of our family. Her main responsibilities will be equipment, travel, and providing motivational leadership. She will assist me with on-court training, summer camps and recruiting." |
