ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman swept doubles play and got singles points by Elizabeth Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Emily Sorah (Bristol, Tenn.) as the No. 1 Lady Eagles defeated No. 4 Lincoln Memorial 5-0. C-N (12-1) jumped out to a 3-0 advantage thanks to an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles by SAC co-Player of the Year Amanda Bartlett (Powder Springs, Ga.) and SAC Freshman of the Year Taryn Cappadonna (Kennesaw, Ga.). The C-N duo won over LMU's Kathleen Rollet (SAC co-Player of the Year) and Rachel Redmond (Somerset, Ky.). Sneed won her No. 3 singles battle with Sophie Denlinger (West Milton, Ohio) 6-3, 6-3, while Sorah was victorious 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) against Emily Osborne. The Lady Eagles will take to the court again in the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament Finals. The Lady Eagles will face the Pioneers of Tusculum Saturday, April 19, at 9 a.m. at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
