JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman third baseman Jessie Howard has been named a 2007 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association second team All-South Atlantic Region selection.

In her first season, Howard led the Lady Eagles with a .414 batting average, four triples, and 32 stolen bases. She also earned first team All-South Atlantic Conference honors.

Howard and her Lady Eagle teammates will take on USC Upstate in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional tournament this afternoon.
