ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman's Jessie Howard and Zoe Heim have been named South Atlantic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced today.

C-N shortstop Jessie Howard (Knoxville, Tenn.) batted .545 for the week, going 12-for-22, leading Carson-Newman to a 6-0 week. The sophomore posted a .583 on-base percentage (14-of-24), scoring seven times. She also went 8-for-8 on stolen bases.

Lady Eagle senior Zoe Heim (Gallatin, Tenn.) took Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week. In three starts, she finished with 28 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.00. She scattered 14 hits over 21 innings, allowing only three extra-base hits, all doubles. The tossed a two-hit, 12-strikeout, complete game in a 6-1 win over Bellarmine on Thursday.

The South Atlantic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week are chosen by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
