Final Stats

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Two hits in four games...and counting...

Senior Zoe Heim (Gallatin, Tenn.) fired a no-hitter in Game 1 and sophomore Stephanie Templeton followed with a one-hitter in Game 2 as the Lady Eagles won a pair of 5-0 games against Pfeiffer in Misenheimer, North Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.

Heim's (Gallatin, Tenn.)outing comes on the heels of Templeton's perfect game on Tuesday against Brevard, as the two have combined to allow two hits, both singles, over the last 27 innings. The senior worked seven innings, walking one and striking out seven to improve to 24-5 on the season. She recorded 12 ground-ball outs, and the Lady Eagles committed one error behind her.

Templeton would follow with a one-hit, nine-strikeout effort behind Heim's first no-hitter of the season.

Sophomore Jessie Howard reached and scored in both games, to give both Lady Eagle starters a lead with which to work. She finished the day with three runs scored.

Senior Mandy Stevens (Knoxville, Tenn.) turned in a 4-for-4 effort in Game 2, scoring twice and adding an RBI.

As a team, the lady Eagles pounded out 12 hits in the Game 2 win, but left eight runners on base.

Combined, the Lady Eagle pitching staff has not allowed an earned run in 47 innings. Heim has not allowed a run in 28.1 innings. Templeton's scoreless-innings streak is at 13 innings, and she has not allowed an earned run since a 6-3 win at Catawba in March (36.2 innings).

C-N will travel this weekend to Newberry for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. The Lady Eagles can clinch a share of the South Atlantic Conference title with a sweep.

The lady Eagles are also within two games of the school record for wins in a single season (42) set in 1991.
