Lady Eagles Ranked 21st in Final NFCA Poll
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Carson-Newman softball team is ranked 21st in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll, officials announced Monday. The Lady Eagles went 32-17 in 2009 and won their ninth South Atlantic Conference Tournament title. C-N advanced to the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Super Regional, where it lost two games to North Georgia. [+]

Umpire Miscue Leaves Lady Eagles Feeling Not-So-Super in 1-0 Loss
DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- A lineup card was the difference in game two of the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Super Regional. Top-ranked North Georgia was credited with a 1-0 win over visiting Carson-Newman on Saturday afternoon in Dahlonega, Georgia, but not until after C-N had tied the game at 1-1 and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh, only to see the run stripped from the board. Lady Eagles lose Super Regional opener to North Georgia
DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- Solid fielding has been a major key to Carson-Newman's success during its postseason run, but it turned out to be the weakness Friday night against top-ranked North Georgia in game one of the NCAA Division II Softball Dahlonega Super Regional. North Georgia took advantage of four Lady Eagle errors in the first two innings to score five runs en route to a 6-3 victory at the North Georgia Softball Complex. [+]
