Rebecca Angus Will Play For Kolbotn I.L. In Norway

JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Carson-Newman Lady Eagle forward Rebecca Angus will take her talents to Norway after signing a two-year contract with Kolbotn I.L.

Angus' contract will run through the 2009 season and will play for a team that won Norway's National League in 2006 and reached the semifinals of the UEFA Women's Cup.

Angus, the Eagle Club Female Athlete of the Year, dominated the South Atlantic Conference in 2006, earning her second Conference Player of the Year Award in three years. She led the Lady Eagles with 21 goals, nine assists, and 51 points. She led the South Atlantic Conference in goals scored per game, assists per game, and points per game. In 2006, the Lady Eagles won both the South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Southeast Regional tournament final. During her four-year career, she helped lead the Lady Eagles to the NCAA Division II Final Four in 2004 and 2005 and was named to the SAC's All-Conference first team in each of her four years at Carson-Newman. This season, she earned All-Southeast Region first team honors from both Daktronics and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and was named an NSCAA All-American.
