April 2, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Carson-Newman women's soccer player Stacey Thomas has been named First Team Academic All-American by ESPN the Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The senior defender from Springfield, Ohio, started 19 of 20 games for the Lady Eagles and led the team to the 2006 South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament titles. She was the anchor of a C-N defense that held opponents to a 0.97 goals scored average. Thomas earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average in Mathematics all of her four years at Carson-Newman.
