Jan. 18, 2007 Lady Eagle Soccer Wins Courtesy: Lenoir-Rhyne Sports Information Office HICKORY, NC--The No. 3 Carson-Newman College Lady Eagles (9-0, 2-0) scored early and often to remain undefeated on the year with a 3-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne College (2-6-1, 0-3) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference match at Bears Field. Carson-Newman took control from the outset by scoring all three of its goals in the first 15:32 of the match. Brittany Moore got things going just 2:21 in when she scored in the box off a cross from the left side by Rebecca Angus. The Lady Eagles made it 2-0 in the 10th minute on Angus' free kick from about 30 yards out at the top and Julie Nelson finished off the scoring after kicking in a blocked shot in front of the net. Angus led Carson-Newman offensively with a goal and an assist as the Eagles held a 19-2 shot advantage in the contest. The Lady Eagles return to McCown Field for a 4:30 p.m. match against Tusculum on Wednesday, September 27.
