Brevard, N.C. - 18th-ranked Carson-Newman routed the Brevard women's soccer team 8-0 Saturday afternoon to improve to 7-1 on the season. The Eagles jumped out to a quick lead and would not look back, holding BC to no shots for the game. Carson-Newman's Claire Ramsdale got the Eagles on the scoreboard at the 1:34 mark of the game, putting a shot past BC keeper Sydney Douglas to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. The Eagles next seven goals would come by way of three players, as Nikki Brennan completed a hat trick while Sage Sizemore and Morgan Gruenenfelder each added two goals apiece. The Eagles Zarmena Kasparites picked up three assists on the day while Brittany Moore dished two assists of her own in the shutout. The BC defense was on their heels the whole game as Carson-Newman continued to attack, putting up 33 shots for the game.
