MARS HILL, N.C.-- The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles, ranked seventh in the NSCAA D-II National poll, scored three goals in the first frame to pull off an easy 4-0 victory over Queens. Morgan Gruenenfielde scored twice in the win and assisted on another goal. C-N is 4-0 on the season while Pfeiffer dropped to 1-3. Zarmena Kasparites scored the Eagles first goal on a cross from Gruenenfielde at the 7:27 mark. Just under seven minutes later Gruenenfielde scored her first goal off a deflection. With three minutes left in the first half Jessie Stephens scored on a breakaway to give C-N a 3-0 advantage at the intermission. Gruenenfielde added the final goal at the 59:32 mark. The goal was assisted by Lydia Wright. C-N out shot Pfeiffer 35-to-4. Melissa Terrell made three saves for C-N while Suzie Hinman made 11 saves for Pfeiffer. Both keepers played all 90 minutes.
