ROCK HILL, SC-- The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles Have been placed second in the South Atlantic Conference preseason poll voted on by the league's coaches.

The Lady Eagles, who reached the SAC Tournament finals last season, received two first-place votes and 53 total points.

Shari Buford, a member of the All-Freshman and All-Tournament teams last season, is a preseason All-Conference second team selection.

The Lady Eagles open the 2007-2008 season with exhibitions against Western Carolina, Auburn, and defending Division I national champion Tennessee before beginning the regular season by hosting the Eagle Club Classic at Holt Fieldhouse on November 16 against North Georgia.
