July 24, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman head women's basketball coach Dean Walsh and five players will travel to Italy to face international competition. Coach Walsh will travel with Lady Eagle players Lindsay Eggleston, Ashley Kyle, Emily Mason, Angela Volentine, and Tashea Ledbetter will travel to Rome, Pisa, Florence, and Venice as part of USA Athletes International's Italian Experience. This will be Coach Walsh's sixth trip with USAAI. "I'm looking forward to this trip," Walsh said. "This is probably the toughest competition will face during my time with USAAI, but it will be a great experience for our players." Coach Walsh and his Lady Eagle players will arrive in Rome late Tuesday and visit the famous Colosseum and the Vatican. Later in the week, the team will play at the Marina Di Petrasanta, an open-air arena that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. "I've never travelled outside the US, so it'll be a fun experience," added Mason.
