Lady Eagles In NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles will make their fourth appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament after receiving a bid late Sunday night.

The Lady Eagles (21-9) reached the finals of the South Atlantic Conference tournament as the fourth seed, but will enter the NCAA Tournament as the #8 seed and take on #1 seed Clayton State in the first round on March 9. SAC Tournament champion Newberry is the #7 seed while SAC regular season champion Wingate is the #3 seed in the South Atlantic regional. Other teams competing in the regional are Elizabeth City State, Columbus State, North Carolina Central, and Georgia College and State University.

The winner of the C-N/Clayton State game will advance to the second round on Saturday, March 10 to play the winner of the Elizabeth City State/Columbus State game. The Division II Elite Eight will be hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney on March 21, 22, and 24th.
