Lady Eagles' Tipton Continues to Lead Nation from Three-Point Range

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second week in a row, Carson-Newman junior guard Ashley Tipton leads the nation in three-point field goal percentage according to NCAA statistics released earlier this week.

Tipton is currently shooting 49.6% from long range. She is also ranked 37th in three point field goals per game (2.6).

As a team, the Lady Eagles (12-11, 6-5 in South Atlantic Conference) are outrebounding opponents 12.0 boards per game, earning them 3rd place in the nation for the second week in a row. Additionally, Carson-Newman is 25th in three-point field-goal percentage (36.5%).

In addition to Tipton, sophomore guard Ashley Kyle (Jefferson City, Tenn.) is also listed in the NCAA statistics. Kyle is ranked 27th in free-throw percentage (85.3%) and 31st in the country in assist-turnover ratio (1.78).

The Lady Eagles will be back in action Wednesday night at home against Brevard. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Holt Fieldhouse.
