Don Elia To Enter Wrestling Hall of Fame

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman head wrestling coach Don Elia will be inducted into the Tennessee chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in October.

Chapter vice president Darrell Lauderdale announced Elia would be one of seven inductees to the Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Knoxville Crowne Plaza hotel on October 13 at 7:00 p.m.

During his prolific career, Elia has coached nine top-ten teams in the NAIA, coached 76 All-Americans and 22 individual National Champions, and mentored four current college coaches and more than 15 current high school coaches.

Elia and the Eagle wrestling team begin the 2007 season on November 27 at King College.
