JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman wrestling team posted a pair of wins over the weekend, beating both Anderson College (S.C.) and King College on Saturday in Jefferson City. The Eagles beat Anderson 41-11 to start the day. Will Campbell (Saltville, Va.) and Aymen Habiballah led the way, winning with falls at 184 and 141, respectively. Kent Pierson (Cincinnati, Ohio) won by technical fall at 133, while twin brother Kody won by major decision at 125. Carson-Newman fought off King College 25-15 in its second match of the day. Sophomore Ryan Brock (174 lbs.) picked up his first varsity win, beating King's David Johnson in an 8-5 decision. Kurtis Hess (149 lbs.) and Josh Sprewell (194 lbs.) each won by major decision to lead the Eagles. Kody Pierson and Campbell each continues their impressive days, each winning be major decision as well. C-N returns to action on Saturday it hosts the EdSouth Championships in Jefferson City.
