Eagles Finish 11th at Midwest Classic - CARSON-NEWMAN OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Carson-Newman Wrestling team accumulated 49.5 points and finished in 11th this past weekend at the Midwest Classic Championship.

The Eagles were paced by Kody Pierson and Tom Minwell, both finishing in the top eight of their weight classes.

Kody Pierson, recovered from defeat in the first round match, rallied to win six straight matches to earn a berth into the third place match. Pierson lost to Newberry's Matt Oliver to take fourth in the 125 weight class.

Tom Minwell won his first two matches before falling to Indianapolis' Lynn Panko. Minwell rallied to win three matches, earning a spot in the fifth-place match.

The Eagles return to action today, Tuesday, January 8. The Eagles will take on Cumberland in Jefferson City at 7 p.m.
