Eagles fall to Tusculum, 7-2



Freshman Chris Acker's three-set loss was the day's closest match. Acker lost 10-8 in the final set.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Tusculum Pioneers used a 5-1 advantage in singles to beat the Carson-Newman Eagles 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

Trent Slagle picked up C-N's only win in singles, winning convincingly at #6 singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Giuseppe Schwarz and Adriano Kira combined for C-N's other point, winning 8-6 at #2 doubles.

Freshman Chris Acker suffered the toughest loss in what was the day's toughest match. He fell 6-3, 3-6, 8-10 in three sets at #5 singles.

The Eagles fall to 3 -2 overall and 0-2 in SAC play. The face North Georgia at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
