ROCK HILL, SC--- Carson-Newman's Omar Cooke has been named the South Atlantic Conference's Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to three wins to open the 2007 season. Cooke, a Vinton, Virginia native, scored five goals in three wins over Montreat, A-B, and Salem International. Cooke scored twice against Montreat and Salem International for 10 points in three games, producing an astounding 71% shooting percentage and an 86% shot on goal percentage. Cooke was named the SAC's freshman of the year in 2006 and earned second team All-SAC honors last season as well as preseason first team All-SAC honors in 2007. The conference's eight-member institution's sports information directors select the 2007 SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
