ROCK HILL, SC-- The Carson-Newman Eagles have been picked to finish third in the 2007 South Atlantic Conference men's soccer coaches poll.

The Eagles, who have won the regular season crown for the past three years, put three players on the preseason All-Conference first team. Forward Omar Cooke, the 2006 SAC Freshman of the Year, was ninth in the league in total scoring last year with eight goals and six assists. Also making the first team for the Eagle are defenders Thomas Ostvold and Everardo Flores. Ostvold earned All-American honors in 2006 while Flores earned second team All-SAC honors last season.

The Eagles open the 2007 season at home against Montreat College.
