April 17, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, TN-- Carson-Newman soccer assistant coach Richard Moodie will play soccer with the Cincinnati Kings this summer. Moodie, a native of Scotland and former Eagle player, will begin play with the Kings on April 21 when the team takes on the Richmond Kickers in Virginia. The Kings are part of the United Soccer Leagues' Second Division with teams based mostly in the southeastern and midwestern U.S. states. "I cannot wait to play and experience the next level of soccer here in the States," Moodie told the Orange and Blue newspaper. "Hopefully, I will start as a central defender and not a substitute." Moodie will look to return to Carson-Newman in August to help coach the defending regular season SAC champion Eagles. During his career as an Eagle defender, Moodie scored six goals and had four assists for 16 points.
