JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- The fourth seeded Carson-Newman Eagles advanced to the semifinal round of the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament with a 6-0 rout of Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday afternoon at McCown Field. With the win, the Eagles (14-2-2) will take on top-seeded Lincoln Memorial on Friday, November 2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina in the semifinals. LMU defeated eighth seed Catawba, 4-0. C-N dented the scoreboard in the 18th minute when Jakop Storhaug headed in a Dane Hodge throw-in. Marcus Cabralis gave the Eagles the lead for good in the 35th minute with an astounding dribble display for an unassisted goal. Defender Thomas Ostvold ended the first half scoring with a rebound goal for a 3-0 Eagle advantage. In the second half, the Eagles continued their scoring onslaught when Omar Cooke headed in an entry pass from Ale Oliveira for a 4-0 Eagle lead. Oliveira added another assist on a pass to Chris Collins in the 76th minute. Collins tapped in his fifth goal of the season for a 5-0 advantage. Joe Johns capped the Eagle dominance with a goal in the 86th minute off a Brad Holdren assist. The Eagles will face LMU at 3:00 p.m. on Friday with the winner advancing to the tournament championship on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
