JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- The Carson-Newman Eagles rebounded from a Wednesday loss to LMU to defeat Lenoir-Rhyne 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday. C-N (9-1-0, 3-1-0) opened the scoring when Chris Collins fired a shot past Bears keeper Francisco Banuelos in the 19th minute for a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Lars Holstad and Kapil Davis took over the Eagle offense. Holstad took a pass from Davis and fired a shot in the goal box in the 57th minute for a two-goal advantage. After a Jakop Storhaug penalty kick goal in the 73rd minute, Holstad returned the favor to Davis with his lone assist of the match on Davis' sixth goal of the season for the final 4-0 tally. Banuelos had four saves in the match while C-N's Jordan Moore collected eight saves. The Eagles play King College on October 2 before returning to SAC play at Catavba on October 6 at 2:00 p.m.
