MARS HILL, NC - Marcus Cabralis (Trinidad) hit a shot from around 28 yards out with just 28 seconds left in regulation to lift No. 10 Carson-Newman over Mars Hill 2-1 in men's soccer action Wednesday night in the Ammons Family Sports Complex and Meares Stadium. MHC fell to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the South Atlantic Conference standings while C-N improved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Faisal Chibsah (Ghana) scored off of a deflection at the 19:16 mark to put the Eagles on the board. Kapil Davis (Lawrenceville, GA) assisted the score. The teams would carry that score into the locker rooms at halftime.

After returning to the match from an injury that sidelined him for most of the second half, Daniel Waymont (Winchester, England) kicked a penalty shot past the Eagles' keeper at the 88:11 mark to tie the mach at 1-all.

C-N out shot the Lions 17-9. Jordan Moore (Hendersonville, TN) played the entire match in the net for C-N and made two saves.

The Eagles return to McCown Field on Saturday, September 15 to take on Brevard College at 4:00 p.m.
