Eagles Battle to 1-1 Tie HARROGATE, TN-- The Carson-Newman men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie while the Carson Newman Lady Eagles remained undefeated with a 5-2 victory over Lincoln Memorial University. In the men's game, the Eagles (3-0-1, 0-0-1 SAC) and Railsplitters battled to a 1-1 deadlock in a physical game where both teams combined for nine yellow cards and two C-N players, Dimas and David Carrasco, were tagged with red cards. LMU led 1-0 until Omar Cooke scored an unassisted goal in the 89th minute to even the match at 1-1. In the two overtime periods, the Eagles outshot LMU 5-3, but couldn't get the winning goal in earning their first tie of the 2006 season. Both teams will return to McCown Field to host home matches this weekend. The men will host Ohio Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8.
