Tyler Lane Fires First Round 75 In Kiawah Island Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC-- The Carson-Newman Eagle golf team is in fifth place after one round of play at the Kiawah Island Invitational hosted by USC-Aiken.

Brad Robinson completed the 6,875-yard, Gary Player-designed course at Cougar Point Golf Club tied for 6th place with a two-under par 70. The Johnson City native was the Eagles' top scorer for the round. Eagle newcomers Blake Howard and John Minor, Jr. scored one-over 73s and are tied for 19th place in the individual rankings heading into Tuesday's final round. Cory Hinchey finished at +2 with a 74 and Tyler Lane is at +3 after a first-round 75.

The Eagles conclude the Kiawah Island Invitational today.
