July 18, 2007 JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Incoming transfer Brad Robinson and rising senior Tyler Lane are competing in the Southern Amateur Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina at the Country Club of North Carolina. The Southern Amateur championship is the most prestigious amateur tournament in the southeastern United States. An east Tennessee native and graduate of Science Hill High School, Robinson last played college golf at Coastal Carolina where he participated in the NCAA finals as a freshman. Fans can can follow Lane and Robinson's progress at www.sgagolf.com. Incoming freshmen Blake Howard of Science Hill and John Minor, Jr. of Farragut High both qualified for the Tennessee State Amateur on Tuesday at the Virginian Country Club in Bristol. Blake shot an even par 72 and Minor a two-under 70. There were seven spots available with 28 golfers competing. Howard and Minor will compete August 14th - 17th at the Belle Meade Country Club in Nashville.
