FRANKLIN, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman golfer Tyler Lane shot a 71 at the Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club to qualify for the Southern Amateur tournament.

Lane forced a playoff with his one-under par and birdied the first playoff hole to earn a spot in the tournament. Lane will play in the tournament scheduled for July 18-21 at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst.
