HICKORY, NC-- The Carson-Newman Eagles concluded the 2007 season with a third place finish at the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Golf Championship at Catawba Springs Golf Club.

The Eagles posted a 54-hole score of 609 to tie for third with Lenoir-Rhyne College. Dane Fairfield fired a 1-over 73 in the final round to finish tied for fifth in the individual standings. Corey Hinchey tied for 18th place. After opening with a 73, Hinchey shot a nine-over 81 in the final round. Tyler Lane and Chad Grubb finished tied for 21st place. Lane, the Eagles' lone All-SAC player, had scored of 78 and 77, respectively, while Grubb finished with a final round 76. T.C. Baker finished tied for 26th with a two-day score of 156, one shot behind Lane and Grubb.
