JEFFERSON CITY, TN - Trips to Utah and Chattanooga highlight the 2007 Carson-Newman football season. The Eagles released their 2007 season schedule Tuesday and will open the season at Burke-Tarr Stadium on August 23 versus Virginia State.

After the season opener against the Trojans, the Eagles travel to Chattanooga for a Thursday night contest against Division I-AA foe the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga on August 30. The Eagles return to Burke-Tarr Stadium on September 15 for Family Day against St. Augustine's and then travel to St. George, Utah for a non-conference showdown with Dixie State on September 20.

The Eagles open South Atlantic Conference play against defending SAC champion Newberry at Burke-Tarr Stadium on September 29 before traveling to North Carolina to take on Mars Hill on October 6. Carson-Newman will celebrate Homecoming with a 3:00 p.m. game versus Catawba and then a road contest at Lenoir-Rhyne on October 20. Carson-Newman welcomes Brevard to the South Atlantic Conference in a 1:00 p.m. home contest on October 27 and begin November with a SAC game at Wingate. The Eagles conclude the regular season at home against in-state rival Tusculum at 1:00 p.m. on November 10.
