ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman pitcher Brett Hontz (Newton Square, Pa.) has been named to the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament team, league officials announced today.

Hontz, who had earned SAC Pitcher of the Year honors the night before, tossed a complete game at Newberry in a 6-2 Eagle win on the opening day of the tournament. The senior struck out nine and scattered nine hits to move to 10-1 on the year.

The Eagles return to action on Tuesday. C-N will host North Greenville University at 2 p.m. at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex.

The All-Tournament Team is selected by the league's head coaches.
