ROCK HILL, SC - Carson-Newman's Langdon Potts (Dandridge, Tenn.) has been named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week.

Last week, Potts and the Eagles knocked off non-conference opponent Milligan College (14-5), before hosting and sweeping the Lions of Mars Hill College in a three-game conference series. Led by the hitting of Potts, the Eagles captured 7-3, 13-1 and 15-10 wins over Mars Hill to move into second place of the South Atlantic Conference standings at 6-3 on the year.

For the week, Potts turned in a .706 batting average which included 12 hits, 10 runs scored, two doubles, one triple, two homeruns and eight RBI. Potts also added three stolen bases last week to his current season statistics.

Potts' two home runs were the first two of his career. He came just feet shy of his third blast on the week on Sunday, belting a line drive off the fence in right.

The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is voted on by the league's eight sports information directors.
