ROCK HILL, SC--Carson-Newman's Aubrey Morris has been named the South Atlantic Conference female Cross Country Runner Of the Week.

Morris, a sophomore from Chattanooga, TN, placed first in the Belmont-Abbey Invitational with a time of 19:16 in the 5K race as the Carson-Newman Eagles finished second as a team. This was her second straight first place finish as she won the University of Tennessee's Volunteer Invitational a week ago with a time of 19:51.

The conference's eight-member institution's sports information directors select the 2006 SAC Cross Country Runners of the Week.
