BELMONT, N.C.-- Aubrey Morris' second-place finish helped propel the Carson-Newman Lady Eagles to first place in the Belmont-Abbey Invitational this past Saturday. Morris finished the 5K event in 18:14, one of her fastest times this season. Lisa Massey completed her run in 20:05, good for fourth place. Tiffany Winchell was 39 seconds behind Massey, finishing at 20:44 to place sixth. Audra Jordan placed 21st with a time of 22:24 while Cara Hawkins and Laura Young also placed in the top 30. Hawkins finished 26th with a time of 22:56 while Young was 30th. On the men's side, Jonathan Madden finished the 8K run in 13th place with a time of 29:44 while teammate Wyatt Miles finished 22nd with a time of 22:58. Both teams will compete in the South Atlantic Conference championships on October 20th in Salisbury, North Carolina.
